Glad to see some love being shown to more common tin noisemakers. This sub-genre has been pretty chilly over the last 5 years, so maybe change is afoot. This particular pan clanger was made by Kirchhof beginning in the mid-1930s. I've long admired the belly on the devil. Eats must be pretty good down that way!

1930's Halloween tin litho slide whistle Hoarder's estate #179
When I was a new collector I saw these fairly regularly. Times sure have changed! I haven't seen one being offered for sale for quite some time. The RSIN for this now is 2, with a sustainable guide value of $150. Kirchhof made this nicely designed slider in the early 1930s. I can't think of similarly designed tin litho noisemakers, so if you don't have this yet in your collection, this item looks to be in collectible condition.
06/27 Update: It is surprising that this didn't fetch more, at $108.05. As referenced above, they don't surface as much as they once did. Guide value is $150, so the buyer got a bargain.
Vintage (1950s) tin tambourine Kirchoff "Life of the party", cats on pumpkin
I don't know that I've ever seen this tambourine with a decorated rim. It is wonderful! I just checked both versions of this tambourine in the collection (both shown on page 214) and neither has this very pleasing decorated rim. Kirchhof used their Life of the Party moniker in the 1950s on most of their tin party products. (This is a quick and certain way to date Kirchhof items.) Although not always true, most of their output in the 1950s and beyond cut corners here and there to save money. Some designer didn't get the memo with this item.
Vintage Witch Halloween Tambourine made in the USA by KIRCHHOF w/ bats
Ends 10/27
Whenever you see the "Life of the party" tag line on Kirchhof products, know that the item was made in the late 1950s. Given the white border and the bright colors on this now-garish tambourine, this later manufacturing date may have been obvious anyway. These later produced tin litho noisemakers typically have a substantially lesser value than older versions.
Antique 20s Kirchhof Halloween Party Tin Litho Black Cat Witch Rattle
I think this noisemaker employs some of the best imagery Kirchhof ever used. This noisemaker must have been popular since it was made for decades and in at least three different color variations. Contrary to this fine seller's assertion, this particular example was made in the 1950s. What is the immediate tip-off? It is marked "Life of the Party," a tag-line Kirchhof only used then.
