Here is an early Halloween scene by the artist Benjamin Franklin Reinhart perhaps done as a commission for a long-published magazine called the American Agriculturist. The artist has dated his work 1872. The image is a chromolithograph done by Bencke & Scott of New York. It is mounted on cardboard. The title of the work is Mischief Brewing. The item measures ~13.5” high by ~11.25” across. There is chipping at the edges, which would not be visible when framed. The work has a rich sepia toning.
