Lot 102               1920s German JOL Saxophone Horn
This exceedingly rare noisemaker was made in Germany during the early 1920s. It measures ~8” high by ~3.75” across. The spherical JOL face measures ~2.25” in diameter. The saxophone shape is made from cardboard with the JOL face made from a composition wash over cardboard, then hand-painted. Strands of black crepe adorn the head. The mouthpiece is wood. The horn still works! There are four to the complete set. Check out page 194 to see two from the set.
