Lot 49                1910s German Round-Bottom JOL
The first JOLs the Germans produced had round bottoms. They were meant to be hung rather than set on a flat surface. The Germans didn’t produce these round-bottomed JOLs for more than a season or two, which is why you just don’t see them often come available. This one is in excellent condition with its original one-piece insert extant. There is a closed tear at one eye. This JOL was a tad more expensive in its time due to the added vertical green stripes around the JOL. It measures ~5” high by ~6” across.
