Lot 55 1929 Dennison Witch Head Diecut
Dennison produced this non-embossed witch head diecut in 1929, but as with many Dennison items, the journey was not a straight line. This witch head design first appeared in 1925, described as a “Large Cardboard Cut-Out,” and assigned a stock number of H112. The measurement is given as 8” high. This remained constant until 1929, when an item with the same description and stock number BUT a cited measurement of 7” high appears in that year’s Price List pamphlet. Since this diecut measures ~7” high by ~7” across, I have concluded that this is from 1929. It disappears after that year, so this was produced for only the one season. There are three pinholes and a 2” vertical soft bend starting at the bottom a little more than halfway from the left side. On the reverse there is evidence of several adhesive rounds used to hang this . These adhesive rounds are not evident from the front.
