Lot 75                  8” Identically Dual-Sided 1931 Beistle Lantern
Beistle produced this iconic lantern design in 1930, then a smaller version in 1931. This is the smaller version measuring ~8” high by ~9” across. The larger version, otherwise identical, measures ~11” high by ~12” across. Beistle never used this artwork or the inserts for any other product. This example is in remarkable condition except that it is missing the top slot-and-tab support and the bottom connector enabling the lantern to stay open easily. The orange honeycomb sides are original and intact. Both inserts are original and intact. One face has some wear whereas the other face is nearer perfect.
