Lot 80                  1932 Beistle Large Arched-Back Black Cat Diecut
Beistle produced a set of five large diecuts with scalloped edges beginning in 1932. This arched-back black cat diecut is the third-most sought after from this series. (The most sought after are the skeleton in the graveyard shown on page 137 {far and away the most sought after…} and the broomed witch shown on page 150.) This eye-catching diecut measures a whopping ~18.5” high by ~11.5” across. It is embossed and highly detailed. The green highlights are well-placed and make the image pop. When diecuts of this size surface, they are typically in no better than “very good” condition. The only issue with this diecut is a slight bend to one ear. I haven’t seen a better example in years.
