Lot 80                1920s Unused Whitney Fortune Place Card
The imagery of this combination fortune and place card is so energetic. I can almost hear the JOL-headed child laughing while they ride on the none-too-happy cat’s back. This item was produced during the 1930s by Whitney. It measures ~4.5” high by ~4.25” across, closed. The very tip of the tail is missing. I’ve only seen two other examples of this design. One I own and the other is in a collection in southern California. Who will own this third known example?
